Baseball Recap: Chipley Takes a Loss

Chipley was the 5-2 winner over Marianna when they last played one another on March 6th, but their luck changed this time around. Chipley took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Marianna on Friday. That's two games in a row now that the Tigers have lost by exactly three runs.

This is the second loss in a row for Chipley and nudges their season record down to 7-7. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Marianna, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-11.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Chipley Tigers challenge Brookstone Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Marianna, they will square off against Wakulla at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Marianna's pitchers better be ready for this one: Wakulla has averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
