Rosebud-Lott hasn't had much luck against Thorndale recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Rosebud-Lott Cougars will be playing at home against the Thorndale Bulldogs. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with seven losses in a row, Rosebud-Lott turned things around against Bartlett on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 20-3 margin over the Bulldogs. The Cougars' offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last seven games.
Mekenzie Scheler made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brooke Skala, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those RBI were her first of the season. Brynlee Laperouse was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and four RBI.
Rosebud-Lott always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .759. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Thorndale put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 6-3 win over Holland.
Karis Ginn spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits and racked up 13 Ks. That's the fewest earned runs she has allowed since back in February of 2024.
On the hitting side, Thorndale got a big performance out of Brook Amidon, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave Amidon a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Karley Breithaupt, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4.
Rosebud-Lott's victory bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Thorndale, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.
