Softball Recap: Carlmont Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Carlmont's offense. They fell just short of the Hillsdale Fighting Knights by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that the Scots have lost by exactly two runs.

Carlmont dropped their record down to 5-13 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Hillsdale, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6-1 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carlmont will venture away from home to challenge Notre Dame at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Scots' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 9 runs per game this season. As for Hillsdale, they will head out to face off against Burlingame at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Fighting Knights are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
