Madisonville-North Hopkins proved they can win big  on Thursday (they won by six) and  on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Hendersonville Commandos  7-6. The  victory was nothing new for the Maroons as they're now sitting on six straight.
 Mackenzie Stoltz was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She  struck out 12 batters over  seven innings while giving up  four earned  (and two unearned) runs off   eight  hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  tossed less than nine  strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with one  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Sadie Kirk, who  scored two  runs while going 3-for-4. She has been hot, having  posted three or more  hits the last six times she's  played. Another player making a difference was  Sophie Frailley, who  scored a  run and  stole two bases while going 1-for-3.
Madisonville-North Hopkins' win was  their fourth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 6-4. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 7.8 runs. As for Hendersonville, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.
 Looking ahead, Madisonville-North Hopkins will square off against Butler County at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Hendersonville, they will take on Leslie County at 1:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.71  runs per game on average), something the Commandos will no doubt try to take advantage of.
