Recap: Farrell Steelers vs. Bishop Canevin Crusaders

If the Farrell Steelers were riding high off their 83-28 takedown of the Sharpsville Blue Devils last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Farrell took a 82-68 bruising from Bishop Canevin on Wednesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Despite the loss, Farrell still got an impressive performance from Julius Phillips Jr, who scored 28 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Phillips Jr has scored all season. Dontaye Bell was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.

Jason Cross Jr continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Bishop Canevin, scoring 30 points along with nine rebounds and six assists. Cross Jr has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Vaughn, who scored 22 points.

Farrell's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Bishop Canevin, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Farrell will take on Mercer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mercer is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Bishop Canevin, Bishop Canevin and Eden Christian Academy will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
