Burr Oak fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Bellevue on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 75-67 to the Bellevue Broncos. One positive for the Bobcats, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Burr Oak's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Austin Cole, who went 8 of 18 on his way to 20 points and seven boards. Cole is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaynen Ledyard, who posted nine points in addition to seven assists and five boards.

Even though they lost, Burr Oak smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Burr Oak's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 4-2. As for Bellevue, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Burr Oak and Hilltop will round out the year against one another at at 7:30 p.m. on December 28th. As for Bellevue, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bronson at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Bronson will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Bellevue surely won't give up without a fight.
