Basketball Game Preview: Potlatch Loggers vs. Lapwai Wildcats

Potlatch is 0-10 against Lapwai since March of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Potlatch Loggers will welcome the Lapwai Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Tuesday, Potlatch was able to grind out a solid victory over Kendrick, taking the game 62-55.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lapwai, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against Prairie by a score of 58-50 on Tuesday. The score was all tied up 33-33 at the break, but the Wildcats were the better team in the second half.

Lapwai pushed their record up to 7-4 with the win, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32.7 points. As for Potlatch, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-5.

Potlatch came up short against Lapwai when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 65-53. Thankfully for Potlatch, Kase Wynott (who dropped a triple-double on 29 points, 12 rebounds, and ten assists) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
