Baseball Recap: Circle Christian Centurions vs. Ocoee Knights
Circle Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Ocoee Knights, falling 17-5. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Centurions of the 4-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.
Grant Lion was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Carson Gore also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Circle Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Ocoee, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record this season.
After both having extra time off, Circle Christian and Holy Cross Lutheran Academy will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field one another at 5:30 p.m. on March 24th. Circle Christian has given up an average of 9.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Ocoee, they will take on Conrad Academy at 6:00 p.m. on March 20th. Ocoee is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
