Basketball Recap: Charles Page Starts off Right with Win over Northwest Classen

Charles Page had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Northwest Classen Knights 60-58. The Sandites haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Charles Page's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kruz Smith led the charge by putting up 18 points and three steals. Those 18 points gave Smith a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Teric Smith, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 16 boards.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Charles Page will head out to square off against Will Rogers College at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Northwest Classen, they will venture away from home to challenge Marshall at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
