Softball Recap: Grosse Ile Takes a Loss

Grosse Ile was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Mary Catholic Central Falcons/Kestrels. The Red Devils were not able to make up for their defeat to the Falcons/Kestrels from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Grosse Ile's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for St. Mary Catholic Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Grosse Ile will host Jefferson at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bears have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.18 runs per game on average), something the Red Devils will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for St. Mary Catholic Central, they are taking a road trip to challenge Cabrini at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
