Softball Recap: Belmont Comes Up Short

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Belmont's offense. They came up short against the Archbishop Alter Knights on Wednesday, falling 13-0. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Bison's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Belmont saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Makenna Mcdowell, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

With the defeat, Belmont broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-2. As for Archbishop Alter, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Belmont will head out to square off against National Trail at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Archbishop Alter, they will venture away from home to face off against Valley View at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
