Volleyball Recap: Burlington Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Burlington Christian Academy lost against Calvary Day School back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Royals lost 3-0 to the Cougars. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Royals have suffered since October 15, 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-8, 25-17.

Sammy Dove paced Burlington Christian Academy's offense, picking up ten kills. Dove got some help from Ali Moldt and her eight assists. Finally, Reagan Cardwell kept Burlington Christian Academy's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Calvary Day School's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Katheryn Tate led the charge by getting 21 digs and two aces. Tate is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Reece, who had 22 assists and three digs.

This is the second loss in a row for Burlington Christian Academy and nudges their season record down to 6-5. As for Calvary Day School, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.

Coincidentally, Burlington Christian Academy and Calvary Day School will both be playing Westchester Country Day the next time they take the court. The Cougars will host the Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Royals will head out to face them at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.
