Basketball Recap: Rice Memorial Comes Up Short

Rice Memorial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 33rd straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 68-30 loss at the hands of the Mt. Mansfield Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Green Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Vermont basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Cougars are ranked second).

Rice Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Mt. Mansfield, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rice Memorial will face off against St. Johnsbury Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. St. Johnsbury Academy will roll in looking for their 15th straight victory, something Rice Memorial surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mt. Mansfield, they will challenge Bellows Free Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
