Football Recap: Bremen Braves vs. Hillcrest Hawks

Friday just wasn't the day for Bremen's offense. They had to suffer through a 54-0 loss at the hands of the Hillcrest Hawks. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Braves haven't been shut out since back in August.

Kaeden Pettis threw for 42 yards on four of nine attempts. Jonathan 'BJ' Lewis was his top target, picking up 29 receiving yards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hillcrest to victory, but perhaps none more so than Khyran Bullard, who rushed for 63 yards and one TD on only six carries. Bullard's longest rush was for an impressive 50 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Bremen's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Hillcrest, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Bremen will be playing at home against Oak Forest at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Braves will need to watch out since the Bengals have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Hillcrest, they are taking a road trip to challenge Lemont at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lemont HS will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.
