Softball Recap: Aledo Beats King for Their Sixth Straight Victory

Aledo came tearing into Thursday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the King Panthers by a score of 4-1.

LILY HECKATHORN tossed a big game, tossing 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on BROOKLYN TALOA, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. She also hit two doubles, marking her first of the season.

Aledo's record now sits at 8-1. As for King, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-3 record this season.

Aledo is looking to tack on another W to their 13-game streak on the road dating back to last season. Meanwhile, King and Mansfield Legacy (who has only given up 2.3 runs per game) will meet at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Aledo's pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so King's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
