Baseball Recap: Stoneham Comes Up Short

Stoneham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Watertown Raiders. On the bright side, the four- run effort marked the Spartans' highest-scoring game to date.

Stoneham's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Watertown, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Stoneham is set to face off against their familiar foe Wilmington at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Watertown will take on rival Wakefield Memorial at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
