King's Academy comes up short despite Harrison Rollins' dominant performance

The King's Academy Lions's 27-7 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a 61-47 bruising from Knoxville Catholic on Monday. King's Academy has struggled against Knoxville Catholic recently, as their game on Monday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, King's Academy still got an impressive performance from Harrison Rollins, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. Rollins scored a full 34% of King's Academy's points, the 12th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Landyn Adkins, who scored eight points.

Knoxville Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carson Asbaty led the charge by scoring 15 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Ben Stovall, who scored 15 points.

King's Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Knoxville Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.

King's Academy and Sequoyah will round out the year against one another at 12:00 p.m. on December 27, 2023 at. Knoxville Catholic will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Ben Davis at 6:30 p.m. on December 21, 2023. Ben Davis is on a three-game streak of home wins, Knoxville Catholic a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
