Softball Recap: Stratford Academy Eagles vs. Tattnall Square Academy Trojans
Stratford Academy lost against Tattnall Square Academy back in October of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Stratford Academy Eagles came up short against the Tattnall Square Academy Trojans, falling 12-3. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Stratford Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Jordan, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Jordan has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive pitching appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Cordtney Galioa, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with an RBI.
Stratford Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Tattnall Square Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stratford Academy will square off against Piedmont Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Piedmont Academy knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten run or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Stratford Academy likes a good challenge. As for Tattnall Square Academy, they will head out to take on Mount de Sales Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tattnall Square Academy is facing Mount de Sales Academy at the right time seeing as Mount de Sales Academy is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
