Baseball Recap: Woodcreek Starts Season with Victory Against Del Oro

Woodcreek took care of business in their home opener on Saturday. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Del Oro Golden Eagles. That's more bragging rights for the Timberwolves, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Bryson Ruiz looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Aaron Palmer, who went 1-for-2 with five RBI, one run, and one double. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI.
