Recap: East Marion Eagles vs. Lumberton Panthers
The East Marion Eagles suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They were beaten by Lumberton 63-27. East Marion lost against Lumberton in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 46-35 score last time.
Kylie Watts was East Marion's leading scorer, having posted seven points.
Jakeria McCloud held things down on the boards with seven rebounds.
East Marion's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-10. As for Lumberton, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-6.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Salem the next time they take the court. East Marion will head out to face Salem at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while Lumberton will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
