Softball Recap: Albemarle Takes a Loss

Albemarle fell victim to Union Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Cardinals, falling 18-0. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Bulldogs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Albemarle dropped their record down to 1-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Union Academy, the win keeps they at an undefeated 17-0.

Coming up, Albemarle will host Thomasville at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Thomasville has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 18.07 runs per game on average), something Albemarle will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Union Academy, they will head out to challenge Mount Pleasant at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
