Preview: Calhoun Sandcrabs vs. Pleasanton Eagles
The Calhoun Sandcrabs will head out on the road to face off against the Pleasanton Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Calhoun will be strutting in after a victory while Pleasanton will be coming in after a loss.
Last Friday, Calhoun came out on top against La Vernia by a score of 21-14 (the very same score they lost by the week prior).
Calhoun got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Alex Parker out in front who rushed for 105 yards and three touchdowns. Parker was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 63 yards. Darrik Salinas also helped out as he racked up 133 rushing yards.
Meanwhile, Pleasanton came up short against Rockport-Fulton on Friday and fell 36-28.
Pleasanton's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Cade Segura, who threw for 316 yards and four touchdowns, and Jayden Palacios who picked up 260 receiving yards.
Calhoun's win on Friday bumped their record up to 3-3. As for Pleasanton, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Calhoun came up short against Pleasanton in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 25-19. Can Calhoun avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
