 Mid Valley waltzed into their contest  on Monday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They never let the Western Wayne Wildcats onto the board and left with  a   10-0  victory. The result was nothing new for Mid Valley, who have now won six games by seven  runs or more  so far this season.
 The result came thanks to  Ava Hazelton's shutout, as she gave up just two  hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  pitched less than five  innings in eight consecutive pitching appearances.
 On the hitting side, Mid Valley got a  massive  performance out of  Elise Larson, who  went 2-for-4 with a  home run and three  RBI.  Chiara Zavislak was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-3.
 Mid Valley pushed their record up to 13-1 with that  win, which was their fifth straight  at home. As for Western Wayne, they  haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mid Valley will  square off against Lakeland at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Mid Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4  runs per game  this season. As for Western Wayne, they are on the road again  on Wednesday to play Holy Cross at 4:30  p.m. Holy Cross' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6  runs per game  this season, so Western Wayne's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
