Basketball Game Preview: Canyon View Falcons vs. Manti Templars

Two dominant guards in Maylee Spencer and June Olsen are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Canyon View Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Manti Templars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Canyon View will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Canyon View challenged North Sanpete on Tuesday. Canyon View claimed a resounding 63-29 victory over North Sanpete. The game marked the Falcons' most dominant win of the season so far.

Spencer continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten assists. She has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 17 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Bethanee Vargas, who posted nine points in addition to six steals and five boards.

Meanwhile, Manti lost to Richfield on the road by a 53-39 margin on Tuesday. The Templars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Manti now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Canyon View, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Canyon View beat Manti 51-41 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Canyon View since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
