Basketball Recap: Crescent Takes a Loss

Crescent won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a 82-35 loss at the hands of the Neah Bay Red Devils. While losing is never fun, the Loggers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 285th, while the Red Devils are ranked 99th).

Neah Bay's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyler Swan, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 15 points and six boards. Jodell Wimberly was another key player, going 5 for 7 en route to 13 points.

Crescent's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Neah Bay, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 15-3.

Crescent didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 77-28 victory against Chief Kitsap Academy on the 31st. Neah Bay has also already played their next match, a 78-47 win against Clallam Bay on the 31st.
