Basketball Recap: Doron Ross Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Academy at Palumbo

Frankford's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Academy at Palumbo Griffin as the Frankford Pioneers made off with a 47-24 victory. For the Pioneers, this counts as revenge for the 56-49 win the Griffin walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Frankford got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Doron Ross out in front who went 9 for 17 on his way to 20 points along with six boards and three steals. Ross is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kasir Hawes, who posted 12 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals.

Frankford's win bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Academy at Palumbo, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.

Frankford will head out on the road to take on Northeast at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Frankford is facing Northeast at the right time seeing as Northeast is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Academy at Palumbo, they will face off against Boys' Latin Charter at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Academy at Palumbo will also cruise into their next matchup with the timing on their side: Boys' Latin Charter will have lost nine straight heading into Thursday's game.
