Baseball Recap: Mansfield Comes Up Short

Mansfield extended their losing streak to six on Saturday, dropping them down to 3-11. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Addison Knights. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Tigers have suffered since May 12, 2025.

Andy Hermansen was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three RBI. Ryder Breon was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

As for Addison, their win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games.

On Addison's side, the team relied heavily on Brady Newell, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Tyler Miller, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Mansfield wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 10-0 win against Campbell-Savona on the 2nd. As for Addison, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Wellsville at 5:00 p.m.
