Baseball Recap: Camp Point Central Takes a Loss

Camp Point Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Greenfield/Northwestern Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 5-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Garrett Neisen led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Colton Cooley also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Camp Point Central's defeat dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Greenfield/Northwestern, the victory got them back to even at 12-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Camp Point Central will take on Quincy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Greenfield/Northwestern, they will square off against Staunton at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
