Softball Recap: Delta Comes Up Short

Delta made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Mt. Vernon, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Eagles fell just short of the Marauders by a score of 4-2 on Wednesday. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Marauders recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Chloe Mynett was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Delta saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chloe Childers, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Delta's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Mt. Vernon, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-7.

Delta didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 17-0 victory against Muncie Central on the 4th. Mt. Vernon has also already played their next game (against Fishers), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
