Recap: Somerset Academy Panthers vs. Ferguson Falcons
Even though the Ferguson Falcons scored an imposing 59 points on Saturday, the Somerset Academy Panthers still came out on top. Everything went Somerset Academy's way against Ferguson as Somerset Academy made off with a 79-59 win. Given Somerset Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while Ferguson is ranked 206th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jahlon Blain continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 24 points along with six rebounds. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Anthony Henderson, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds.
Somerset Academy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. As for Ferguson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-9.
Somerset Academy will look to defend their home court on Monday against Franklin Academy at 7:30 p.m. Ferguson will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Varela at 7:30 p.m. on January 29th. Varela has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 219 points over their last three matchups.
