Softball Recap: Cape Cod RVT Comes Up Short

Cape Cod RVT extended their losing streak to six on Tuesday, dropping them down to 4-12. They lost 16-4 to the Bristol County Agricultural Chieftains. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Chieftains this season, with their most recent loss being a 13-4 defeat on Thursday.

As for Bristol County Agricultural, the victory (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 16-2. Considering they have won 12 games by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Bristol County Agricultural's part, they got a great performance from Ruth Fagundes as she didn't allow a single hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Fagundes has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kara Millar, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Maddy Kline, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Cape Cod RVT will venture away from home to square off against Minuteman Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bristol County Agricultural, they will head out to face off against Old Colony RVT at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Chieftains will need to watch out since the Cougars have now posted at least ten runs in their last eight contests.
