Leylana Dininny and Macie Konikoff did most of the damage at the plate: Dininny went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Konikoff scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Konikoff has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Alex Bernstein, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.
They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Cape Henry Collegiate kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Elizabeth Seton). Everything went their way against Varsity Opponent on Monday as Elizabeth Seton made off with a 16-4 win. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded Elizabeth Seton with their most commanding win of the season.
Kimmya Sims made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Sims was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, Keagan Cooper was incredible, firing off two home runs, three RBI, and one double while going 3-for-4. Zoe Johnson was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Cape Henry Collegiate's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Elizabeth Seton, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Cape Henry Collegiate hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .507.
