Basketball Recap: Will Kratzer Key Part of Team Effort in Lions Win

Community Christian's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They took down the True North Knights 60-43. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 0-0 two weeks ago.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Community Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Will Kratzer, who went 9-for-17 on his way to 19 points and four steals. What's more, Kratzer also racked up three assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ben Samuel, who went 7-for-13 to rack up 16 points and five boards.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jonas Matthews, who posted 13 points. Carlos Samaniego was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Community Christian has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-16 record this season. As for True North, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Community Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 46-40 loss against Spring Baptist Academy on the 4th. As for True North, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 59-54 win against Faith Christian on the 3rd.
