Softball Recap: Bloom Blazing Trojan vs. Thornton Fractional North Meteors
Bloom put the finishing touches on their 13th blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Thornton Fractional North Meteors an 18-0 shutout.
Emma Staley was incredible, going 3-for-3 with a home run, five RBI, and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of June Lee Hurtado, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.
Bloom's win bumped their record up to 17-4. As for Thornton Fractional North, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.
Bloom will head out on the road to take on Lincoln-Way West at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lincoln-Way West is on a five-game streak of home wins, Bloom a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field. As for Thornton Fractional North, they are on the road again on Saturday to play Blue Island Eisenhower at 10:00 a.m.
