Park View sees their postseason come to a close

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Park View Patriots can now relate to. They fell 66-53 to the Wolverines on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Park View can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 327th, while Woodgrove is ranked 55th).

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jonathan Nicola, who scored 21 points. Another player making a difference was Noah Calalang, who scored 14 points.

Woodgrove got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Joey Marcheschi out in front who scored 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Marcheschi has scored all season. Dane Marsh was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.

Park View's defeat dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Woodgrove, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season.

Park View does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Woodgrove, they will be playing at home against Broad Run at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Woodgrove is coming into the game with eight straight victories at home, so Broad Run is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
