Baseball Recap: Bartram Trail Comes Up Short

Bartram Trail was the 6-5 winner over Columbia when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bartram Trail Bears fell just short of the Columbia Tigers by a score of 10-8 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bears have suffered since March 22, 2024.

Bradley Dennis stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he scored a run while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (three). Landon Tippie was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.

Having lost for the first time this season, Bartram Trail fell to 3-1. As for Columbia, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Coming up, Bartram Trail will be playing in front of their home fans against Spruce Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Spruce Creek is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.5 runs per game this season. As for Columbia, they will venture away from home to square off against Santa Fe at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
