The biggest upset of the week belonged to Okolona, who took down 100th ranked East Webster, 32-24.
The Chieftains moved up to 115 from 159 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 2A Region 4. Okolona climbed the ranks as a result of beating the Wolverines 32-24.
Chakel Gates provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Calhoun City bested Bruce. He completed 7 passes for 93 yards and also ran for 98 yards. Gates' favorite target this week was Brieton Sykes, who caught 5 passes for 75 yards.
Jack Wilson put up the best numbers in passing as East Webster lost to Jack Clark's team. He finished with 7 completions for 83 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Calhoun City's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Wildcats feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Gates has thrown for 789 yards and 9 touchdowns this season, while Lavarious Varnado has 18 catches for 298 yards. Gates also leads the league in rushing with 607 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Eupora takes on the Trojans. At the moment, the Eagles are in first, while Bruce is in fourth.
The league will see a high scoring game when Doug Wilson's team and the Wildcats face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Wolverines comes in having scored 207 this season, while Calhoun City has scored 157. East Webster scored 24 points last week as it fell to the Chieftains.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Eupora takes on James Ray's team. Junior graham's team has allowed 61 points this season, while the Trojans have given up 86.
Okolona led 2A Region 4 in scoring this week by notching 32 points on the Wolverines.
