Basketball Game Preview: Bellingham Bayhawks vs. Meridian Trojans

The Bellingham Bayhawks will head out on the road to challenge the Meridian Trojans at 5:40 p.m. on Friday. Bellingham has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with four straight losses, while Meridian will come in with three straight wins.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 78-46, which was the final score in Bellingham's tilt against Burlington-Edison on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bayhawks have suffered against the Tigers since January 20, 2020.

Meanwhile, Meridian beat Sedro-Woolley 67-56 on Wednesday.

Meridian's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-6. As for Bellingham, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.

Bellingham came up short against Meridian in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 65-59. Can Bellingham avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
