Mater Dei piles up the points against Servite

The Mater Dei Monarchs came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They breezed by Servite on the road to the tune of 92-49. The result was nothing new for Mater Dei, who have now won 15 matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.

Mater Dei's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Luke Barnett led the charge by scoring 19 points along with three steals. The match was Barnett's 12th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brannon Martinsen, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds.

Mater Dei pushed their record up to 18-1 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 89.7 points per game. As for Servite, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-8.

Mater Dei is on the road again on Friday and play against Catholic Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. Catholic Memorial has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 624 points over their last eight games. As for Servite, they will head out on the road to face off against Orange Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
