Soccer Game Preview: Andover vs. Lowell

The Andover Golden Warriors will square off against the Lowell Red Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Andover's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Haverhill. Given Andover's advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts soccer rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while Haverhill are ranked 255th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Lowell unfortunately witnessed the end of their 11-match winning streak on Thursday. They and North Andover finished up their match with a 0-0 draw. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time Lowell have been dealt a draw since back in September.

The win made it two in a row for Andover and bumps their season record up to 7-4-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two matchups. Lowell's draw makes their record 12-0-2 this season.

Andover couldn't quite get it done against Lowell in their previous meeting back in September of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Golden Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
