The North Miami Warriors will square off against the Central Noble Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
North Miami's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Southwood as they made off with a 13-0 win. The victory was nothing new for the Warriors as they're now sitting on three straight.
Jordyn Hackworth was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Porscha Pickett was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
North Miami always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .548 or higher in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Central Noble came tearing into Saturday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Flying Jets with a sharp 12-0 win.
Grace Swank made a splash while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Avery Deter, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Nevaeh Schoup, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
Central Noble's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for North Miami, their victory bumped their record up to 12-3.
North Miami's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's game. The Warriors have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Central Noble, though, as they've been averaging only 0.9 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will North Miami continue to outrun the ball? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
