Baseball Game Preview: Coconino Panthers vs. Mohave Thunderbirds

Coconino is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Mohave a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Monday. The Coconino Panthers will be playing at home against the Mohave Thunderbirds at 4:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Coconino and Prescott had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Coconino lost 15-3 to Prescott on Thursday.

Coconino saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tate Jones, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI. Connor Allen also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Mohave took on Flagstaff on Saturday. Mohave came up short against Flagstaff, falling 11-1.

Mohave's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Coconino, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9-1.

Coconino took their victory against Mohave in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-0. Will Coconino repeat their success, or does Mohave has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
