Preview: Wagoner Bulldogs vs. Miami Wardogs
Wagoner is 6-1 against Miami since February of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Wagoner Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the Miami Wardogs at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wagoner has four straight wins, Miami has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Wagoner scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Catoosa 80-27 on the road. Wagoner has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 24 points or more this season.
Meanwhile, Miami came up short against Vinita on Friday and fell 42-35. While losing is never fun, Miami can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 319th, while Vinita is ranked 148th).
Wagoner has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Miami, they dropped their record down to 4-11 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Wagoner skirted past Miami 30-28 in their previous matchup back in January of 2021. Does Wagoner have another victory up their sleeve, or will Miami turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
