Basketball Game Preview: Columbia Wildcats vs. Bishop Kelly Knights

Columbia is 0-10 against Bishop Kelly since February of 2022 but things could change on Wednesday. The Columbia Wildcats will challenge the Bishop Kelly Knights at 7:30 p.m.

Columbia is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Middleton on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Columbia was beaten by Middleton 87-21. The matchup marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Bishop Kelly waltzed into their game on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Cougars, posting a 65-15 win. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 20 points or more this season.

Bishop Kelly pushed their record up to 9-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29 points. As for Columbia, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.

Columbia suffered a grim 58-33 defeat to Bishop Kelly in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Columbia avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
