Softball Recap: Sandusky Takes a Loss

Sandusky fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Bellevue on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Redmen by a score of 11-10. The Blue Streaks' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Akiyla Jones and Maijon Wiley did some serious damage despite the final result: Jones went 2-for-5 with one home run and three RBI, while Wiley went 2-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla Popke, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Sandusky now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Bellevue, their win bumped their record up to 6-14.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sandusky will welcome Ross at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bellevue, they will host Norwalk at 4:45 p.m. on Friday.
