League recap: Werner dominating on the mound for Poteau

Jay Werner was the best pitcher in NOAA this week, leading Poteau. Over the past week, he racked up one win and 18 strikeouts.

Jace Pitchford had the hottest bat in the league this week, racking up a .778 average with six RBIs. The Pirates compiled a record of 6-0 in that time.

Poteau's pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only 16 hits and 16 walks, both of which led the league.

Pitchford's .778 batting average (14-for-18) for the Pirates was the best in the league this week. His average for the season stands at .596, which ranks first in the league. Pitchford has 28 hits total this season.

Michael Didway drove in six runs for Poteau over the past seven days. He has 18 RBIs this season, tops in the league.



The Pirates' Werner struck out 11 Plainview hitters en route to a 3-0 victory on March 21. Over his seven innings pitched he allowed zero runs on three hits.

Tad Jackson drove in four runners as the Indians defeated Muldrow 12-10 on Thursday. He went 2-for-5 and scored zero runs.
