Basketball Recap: Lowndes Academy Takes a Loss

Lowndes Academy lost against Edgewood Academy back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Lowndes Academy Rebels fell just short of the Edgewood Academy Wildcats by a score of 41-39.

Leading Edgewood Academy to victory were Avery White and Lexie Smith. White posted nine points along with six rebounds and six steals, while Smith had 24 points and five steals. The game was Smith's fourth in a row with at least ten points.

Lowndes Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Edgewood Academy, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Lowndes Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Evangel Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 14, 2025. As for Edgewood Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Springwood at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
