Basketball Game Preview: Lake View Chiefs vs. Big Spring Steers

The Lake View Chiefs will head out to face off against the Big Spring Steers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Lake View is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Odessa on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Lake View lost 68-46 to Odessa. The Chiefs have struggled against the Bronchos recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Big Spring). They strolled past Wink with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 64-49. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Steers.

Big Spring's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-12. As for Lake View, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-11.

Everything came up roses for Lake View against Big Spring in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 77-34 victory. In that game, Lake View amassed a halftime lead of 34-9, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
