Football Recap: Hayden Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with West Grand + How To Watch

Hayden faced West Grand in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Tigers received a blow as they fell 48-32 to the Mustangs. The Tigers have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Danek DeMorat and Carson Campbell certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. DeMorat rushed for 159 yards and two TDs while picking up 9.9 yards per carry, while Campbell rushed for 136 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Campbell also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing two fumbles and making 17 total tackles.

Landon Lockhart had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 233 yards and three scores while picking up 7.8 yards per carry for West Grand. Those 233 rushing yards gave Lockhart a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Blake Terryberry, who rushed for 62 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Hayden's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 6-3. As for West Grand, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1.

As of now, neither Hayden nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
