Soccer Recap: Desert Edge Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Centennial, Desert Edge was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They won by a goal and slipped past the La Joya Community Fighting Lobos 2-1. That's more bragging rights for the Scorpions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Nathan Covarrubias and Dominic DeBenedetto scored both of Desert Edge's goals, bringing their combined season tally to ten goals.

Desert Edge's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for La Joya Community, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5-1.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Mingus the next time they take the pitch. Desert Edge will head out to face Mingus at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, while La Joya Community will host them at 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
